Customized API Tools
Especially the SkyChannel API offers a lot of methods to automate many of your business scenarios, especially if you’re still having a lot of manual processes in place.
PROLOGIS supports you in reviewing your processes, creating concepts where it’s possible to automate processes and is even implementing these concepts for you by using standard Microsoft products like Microsoft Visual Studio 2005®. Two small examples:
- For one of our customer we built a standalone application which connects via the SkyChannel API to the New Skies® system and loads their tour operator passengers into New Skies®. This process was previously done manually, so implementing this application saved them a lot of time. The process to import these passengers into New Skies® runs now up to 60 times faster than it took to import them manually!
- For the same customer we created a second standalone application which calculates the price for incoming group request. The group desk employee selects the incoming request and the application is showing all available flights based on the customer request input. After selecting one of the possible flights the application automatically calculates the price for the group for the selected flight based on pre-defined business rules. Before this application was in place, the group desk employee had to do the calculation manually based on 2 Excel Spreadsheets which stored the possible fares and taxes.
