Aviation-Event 2015 in Frankfurt, Germany Our team member Jürgen Krumtünger moderated a discussion concerning the efficiency of airport security at the Aviation-Event 2015 in Frankfurt, Germany, in July 2015. According to the panelists – a diverse group of executives from the industry, politics and workers union – the efficiency and quality of security lag behind compared to check-in or boarding services, for example. Other themes dealt with at the “Luftfahrt in Dialog” event ranged from reducing emissions to an outlook on passenger experiences in 2025.

IATA’S AGM, Miami, Florida In June 2015, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) held its 71st Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit in Miami, Florida. The two-day meeting attracted approximately 1,000 industry leaders and covered topics such as evolving traveler expectations, challenges in infrastructure, the relationship between airlines and manufacturers and what is on the minds of CEOs. This year’s meeting was a special one as it marked the 70th birthday of IATA: in 1945, 57 airlines joined together in Havana, Cuba, and founded IATA.

Frontier Airlines

Frontier Airlines In 2014, PROLOGIS gained its first American customer: Frontier Airlines. Our team supported the carrier on-site in Denver, Colorado, until the spring of 2015 by taking responsibility for UAT and Deployment Management as part of Frontier’s migration to a new Passenger Service System (PSS). Albeit a large project scope, the implementation succeeded smoothly and PROLOGIS provided its support to the utter satisfaction of the Frontier management.

FVW Technology Day in Cologne, Germany Technology is driving our industry forward. In the course of FVW Technology Day on April 23, 2015, the PROLOGIS staff was able to exchange and update their knowledge on currently much discussed topics such as Big Data, New Distribution Capability (NDC), the travel distribution systems of the future, direct connect opportunities and challenges as well as multi-frontends. As every year, the conference took place in Cologne, Germany, and was well attended by more than 300 industry representatives.

PROLOGIS Team Event 2015 After exploring cities such as Amsterdam, Dresden, Riga and Milan in recent years, PROLOGIS chose beautiful Munich in the South of Germany as the 2015 destination for the internal team event. Successful migration to new PSS at HKE

Successful migration to new PSS at HKE PROLOGIS is pleased to announce the successful conversion of Hong Kong Express Airways to a new Passenger Service System (PSS), including a Departure Control System (DCS) and Revenue Accounting System. HK Express’s new reservation system solution also includes one Type B Global Distribution System (GDS) and four Type A GDS partnerships. The DCS solution is expected to be gradually launched at HK Express’s airport stations over the next three months, which will be also supported by PROLOGIS project management. WFS 2014: Supporting Sustained Airline Financial Health From 13-18 September, PROLOGIS attended the 1st World Financial Symposium (WFS). Through different panel sessions and presentations, IATA aimed to push forward the development of actions to support sustained airline financial health. In this context, the Future of Revenue Accounting (FoRA) Task Force introduced and openly discussed its concept of simplifying revenue accounting related processes by a centralized industry infrastructure. SEPA – Single Euro Payments Area

SEPA – Single Euro Payments Area Recently, we have finished our support for TUIfly.com to cope with the new SEPA requirements. PROLOGIS has been in charge for the complete Project Management. As TUIfly.com’s PSS did not support this new form of payment, the functionality had to be developed from scratch. SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) is the new payment method to simplify money transfer within the participating EURO countries. TUIfly.com has allowed SEPA as form of payment from July 30th and adopted the new EU law within the given time frame.

Updates on NDC

In August, the US Department of Transportation (DOT) validated the vision and resulting standard of the New Distribution Capability (NDC) Program. It gave final approval to Resolution 787, the foundation document of NDC. This decision is a major milestone and demonstrates the importance of technical standards and their value to the travel sector. NDC is no longer a project out of a black box and airlines are well advised to start getting more familiar with the new technology. Every summer, PROLOGIS hosts an internal team event for its employees. This year we decided on a city trip to Amsterdam from 22-24 August. The event started off artistically with a visit of the Van Gogh Museum. As part of a treasure hunt on Saturday, we competed in collecting information on the sights of Amsterdam, such as the Old Church, the Rembrandtplein and the Begijnhof.
